the trip i caught shark fever (long post)

i head to the keys after thanksgiving for my christmas present from my grandma set up camp and i head to tomsharbor (first time in the keys) i see a big bull swimming on bottom. cant seem to catch any shark bait. i think to myself, i have no idea ow to fish down here lol.i end up finding some yellowjacks with my bucktail catch 2 and put out the head on my 4/0 (all i owned at the time) and i get a fast hit set hook and the fish jumped thinking tipper or spinner. nothin that nite. the next day i bring out the other yellow jack head and put it out on the 4/0 on top under a bottle i hook about a 200lb nurse get her straight up and down and pop her off. that nite i head to miler alone and walk all the wy out 2 the end and catch 2 more yellowjacks on a gotcha and loose a tarpon. i put out the yellowjack head and a boat comes and gets my line rather then cutting it i let him take it all to get wrapped in the prop. nothin 2 me its only a 1/4lb spool. so im pissed and call my ride and head down to the beging of the bridge to wait. sittin there thing to myself how im glad there isnt anyone around to mess with me her comes a truck pullin in. i think wouldnt it b my luck someone would come. im sittin there and i hear it the kid from bradenton. i look and its hammer and his son joey.(i had no idea they were even down in the keys) so i call and tell my ride not to come and i snapper fish with hammer and joey all nite in the freezing cold i have onl a pair of pants and longsleeve shitrt. the next mornin we fished and then went and caught yellow jacks and joey caught a 22lb cuda without any wire. straigh 50lb mono.take them 2 chan.2 and hang chunks of cuda joey hookes up first on his 12/0 then i hook up on his 12/0 and j.d misses a small one. that nite i went back 2 my campsite beat tired and sore like no other but woke up the next morning and went straight to chan 2 and caught my first cuda on a tube lure sent a pic to joey and him and j.d come down from miami and put out the cuda half on the 12/ and half on the 14/0 i put down a yellow jack head on my 4/0 with 80lb mono. earlyer that day i saw a big black bull had to be 400plus hit a big eagle ray twice and leave. i get hit and bring in aabout a 120bull on my 4/0 the joey gets hit by a big bull and its takin him to the north side of the chan. and im watchin hammers 14/0 as he walks to help his son. i look down and see another big bull about the same size coming in on his bait. as soon as he comes back the bull hits and hammer is hooked up and makes faster work of his the his sons. joeys bull messured 8ft6in and j.ds messured 8ft4in both 300lb class fish.
