the start of fall and the legend of green lemonade
weve been fishing hard for the past two weeks, traveling north to boca and back south. fishing various beaches and bridges whose names will not be revealed. I spent the daytime hours scavenging for bait in the backcountry and flats armed with a pitchfork and a bowie knife. after begging for a few scraps from the inshore fisherman cleaning their catches at a local fillet table they told me that they had thrown out all of their carcusses. I wasnt about to give up that easy, i had only a short time to complete this maneuver due to the short amount of time i had for slack tide. so i began feeling the bottom of the canal floor trying to find a carcuss. i managed two redfish carcusses. i moved on to the flats and stabbed two skates. nightfall came quicker than i wanted it to. so i was stuck kayaking through the many canals and mangrove rivers in the itch black. i made it back exhausted and burnt. scott picks me up at my house at bout 12 am, and we head over to boca grande. on our way we stopped at a bridge that ive always wanted to fish.... we didnt catch anything. but new spots are hard to fish. we made it to boca before sunrise, and sat at the mouth of the pass, waiting for the jacks to start blowing up. eventually we see the birds, a sign of bait which means bigger fish. we quickly grab our rods and nets and scott follows one flock of birds and i follow another in the opposite direction. after the bait moved on scott and i met back up with eachother. scott had landed about 30 ladyfish, 10 bluerunners, and some small jacks. i caught a big snook and a small jack. i spotted two sharks chasing bait and witnessed a massive tarpon go airborn and 360 in the air. we eat and and quickly head to the pass for slack tide. dropped a bait and snoozed.
as night approached we got dinner and headed to the beach, only one shark landed that night
a small 6 foot bull
after we woke up from our shark comas caused by shark fever. i call up my buddy and go out again. this time landed a 7'4" lemon that thought he was a hammer.
after that no more sharks. so we head home.
shark coma, wake up, regain the fever and head back out
my buddy riley, scott, mike, some girls and me hangin out at the spot. the night seemed good.
after riley dropped a tiny bait on the tiny reel with the braid it gets hit almost 10 minutes after.
he sets up and after a 20-30 minute fight theres an 8'1" bull laying on the beach, his largest shark to date. after further examining the bull we see the shark was intentionally wrapped in something with a hole drilled in its head and a hook hanging out of its mouth.
after that shark we headed to the bridge for some lemonade.
our buddy mike got the first hook up a nice lemon straight up and down, but he was distracted by the pretty girls and it broke off
scotts next
with the most disgusting lemon youve ever seen
the bottom of it was a yellow green color and its teeth were all yellow and chipped or missing the tips. BUT STILL A LEGEND
Nice combo report, I like beach fishing when I can run around for fish like that. Nice to finally see a big bull from that area. I don't remember the details but I do remember I was around when a shark or two was caught all wrapped up and we helped them out as well as various sharks with hooks in them that were clipped off or removed sometimes.
Just an average fisherman.

Another KICK ASS report ,,,you guys are on fire over there!!!! Thanks for posting it.
