The Nurse that broke the curse
Team Getcha Getcha Sharkon had to take a few days off from the BHC to get some stuff done and recharge our batteries. We have been fishing hard with no success until this trip. Well over 100 baits - Fresh and frozen - big and small with out a click of a reel. Our batteries are fully charged and the time is right. The time is now. We put together a quick trip and I called our new friend mattshark3198. I tell him we are going to hit multiple spots and fish hard and he says he is in 100%.
We meet up at 10pm and converge 4 cars of stuff into one truck. We hit our 1st destination and put baits out in the water. Unfortunately, it started to rain about 2 hrs into the trip. All of our clothing and sleeping stuff was soaked. We stuck it out. Near sunrise I hear a slow click of mattshark3198 reel going off. I don't move from under my umbrella because I assume he is adjusting his reel and I fall back to sleep. I wake up 5 min. latter and I hear the same noise. I turn and see that no one is around. I set the hook and play the fish for 5 min. I yell to the shark wrestler to find the guys and he sees them coming back from Mcdonalds with hot coffee and food. I hand the rod off to mattshark3198 and he fights the shark for 25 min. in the rain.

He reels in a nurse and I tell him to put his rod in the spike and meet us down by the water. Unfortunately, the shark spits the hook in about 3ft from the shark wrestler in about 2 ft of water. We need this shark. It's our 1st one in a while and mattshark3198 first big one. Next thing we know the shark wrester dives head first onto an 8ft 3 inch nurse shark and starts rolling with it in the surf. He got it
. I couldn't beleive it. We need that shark. It was the NURSE THAT BROKE THE CURSE. I turn to my left and shout for mattshark3198 to pose with the nurse and I see him standing there with an impressive bottle of champagne and another good luck piece. It was another unexpected site. The rain was severe and did put a hurting on my camera but I had to post the nurse and marcus wrestling in the surf.

We packed up our gear in the rain and headed west.

We found some sunshine in the middle of the state.

We set up camp in the mid-day hot sun and it was very pleasant since we spent aout 8 hrs in the rain.

The hot sun, no sleep, heavy work and little to drink got to me quickly. I was dehydrated with a resting heart rate of 136 beats/minute and other issues. My team is great...they grab me some water follwed by a rum and coke and we fished all night long.
1st shark was a fat blacktip shark on a bait that was about the size of the blacktip. Its ok.. another shark. We were working our way up the shark chain.
I landed a 71 inch female blacktip.

.
Then I landed an 8ft 1.5 inch bull.

And of course the champagne was flowing.

My other rod went off while I was fighting the bull. I had a circle hook on a new rod and really wanted the rod since it was most likely a big hammer and I have a lot of experience with circle hooks. I yelled for rod. I said I could handle both rods. I was out voted and the fish was fought and lost by my partners. Could of happen to anyone.
Shortly thereafter, cmoney 7 rod with his new 80w went off. Nothing like catching a shark on a new reel/rod. He lands a 6ft 8inch bull.

mattshark3198 makes an observation that all the rods on the right side of the camp were getting hit. He stands up and starts reeling in his bait from the left side and kayaks out for his 1st time. He takes his used bait out at night on the right side of camp. Wouldn't you know it.....he gets a hit about an hour latter. Unfortunately his line broke during this running man.

He was so excited about doing the running man during this trip that he tackled me while I hit the wall when setting the hook on my bull. He carried me and my rod 10 yards (200 pounds plus my 15 pound rod). He practically skulled dragged the big bull out of the water while running with me like I was his prison bitch. Very funny and scary experience. We think he put the same determination into his fish and just popped his 50# line.
Long story short. We all had a great time and can't wait to get out there again. With new and old friends. I can't wait to see what mattshark319 will bring out next time as his lucky charm
.

TEAM GETCHA GETCHA SHARKON
was it cold out there, yall are all bundled up like a bunch of girls?
It was getting chilly, but it was more of a bug issue. West coast with a light east breeze will do that this time of year. We were just preparing for the worst.
And thanks for the compliments, we really needed that nurse.
We were laughing so hard in the car rides on this trip, it was a fun time. Seeing Marcus get jacked up by the nurse but getting the job done was awesome. Good spot and good fishing that could have been much better if we landed all the sharks that we missed. Ready to go back, just tell me when!!!!!!!
That's some good sh%T rit ther!!! .I know this team works hard and the best part is the slap stick humour you incorporate into your trips ,,, I wish I could be there to laugh my azz with you guys:lol:
A great time on the sand ,new friends and you got rid of the curse while wrestling with a nurse,,,,but the best part that had me rolling on the ground laughing is this one line by the author Chris(snookhunter)
""He practically skulled dragged the big bull out of the water while running with me like I was his prison bitch""
