Summer time in the keys

Hey guys,
Finally got some time to get back out and fish. Typical story, had to do some family stuff in Miami for a day then I was free to fish. We rolled out of Hialeah Monday morning headed straight to the keys. I love the keys this time a year, it's sunny and hot! We get to long key and get to fishing. In a few hours we caught a ton of snapper, just a couple were keepers. We also managed to nice 12" Jacks and a small grouper. I had the cudas chasing a tube lure, but they wouldn't hit so I threw out a grunt and it got hit between the bridges but the hook pulled and we lost him. The bite started to turn off and we we're going to put some baits out but we decided to hit the flats at the south side of the seven miler. We get down there and get some baits out. I had my 14/0, 9/0 and my 10/0 I won at the last end of the year shark club party. I also threw a grunt out on my Jigmaster, and that was the first thing to get hit. Ended up being a big nurse, so I decide to try to walk him down but he was fat and took me under the bridge. The 30 pound line wasn't any match for the tough concrete pilings so he broke me off. About an hour later the 10/0 gets a screaming hit, my buddy Joe grabs the rod and sets up on him and is hooked up. It pulled some good drag and hooks pull. The Sun sets and the 14/0 gets a steady hit and the shark drops it so I let it sit don't touch it. 20 min later it goes again, I let him eat a while put the reel in gear and set up hard. I'm up against the rail and he's taking me out to the flats. After about a 15 min fight I get him to the bridge and it's a real nice lemon. We walk him down, snap some photos, get the hook out and watched him swim away. I dozed off and we got 2 more hits that night, missed the hookset on one and the other just dropped it. Overall a nice trip, love getting back to the keys.
