Spinner in a noose

Went down to matanzas this morning to try and catch a red or two, didnt find any. But I caught a spinner that had a piece of P-cord tied around her neck, cutting deep into her. Cut the p-cord and sent her back happy. Even with that injury she put on quite the ariel show! And when I grabbed the leader to pull the hook the leader broke, so we just get her in

That's a really deep gash, surprised that it swam away okay.

Just an average fisherman.

This has happened before to me and an old friend I used to fish with, we caught a bull from bcp with the same marks around the neck tied with cord, after doing some research I come to find out its the shrimp boats or shrimpers that take the sharks, I guess sometimes in the process the sharks get away!

nice tipper. too bad about the cord but good on you for cutting it off! first i've heard of the shrimpers. i remember a post on here with a bull that had a plastic band around its head/gills. just seems like people being asshats to me.

Wow, wild catch for sure. Glad it swam off, will heal in time. I'm pretty sure it's a blacktip though, spinners would have black on the back bottom fins. Nice
Job!
