went out to south beach yesterday night with fred joe and migel we got there around 8pm for the first time "12 year old" migel brings his own rod a 4/0 with 50lb test thats his dad let him hold. he was talking trash the hole drive over to the beach about how he's going to catch the biggest shark today. we rigged his rod up and tell him the only way your going to fish is if you yak it out there. with no fear in his eyes he grabs the yak the paddle and his bait and tell me yell at him when you want me to drop the bait. so he starts taking the bait out about 150 yards i tell him to stop he comes back tells us his arms feel are about to fall off. 5 mins later migel rods starts running he grabs it lets it run then sets the hook and starts the fight about 25 min later there it is a 4ft 11 inch black tip his first shark. we left aound 9:30 pm the first words he saids when he gets in the car is "i told you i'll catch the biggest shark today" and he was right.

This is a classic post!!One of the main reasons for this website is to show our history,tell our story and to pass along the passion we feel for our sport and on this night you guys did that very well.The look on Miguel's face in the second picture tells the story .This is a hard core shark fisherman in the making .Thanks for taking the young ones fishing and Thanks for sharing with us.
PS. LOVE THE OLDSCHOOL ROD AND REEL reminds me of when i started sharkfishing with a Penn 65 and 6 foot boat rod.
