Just spent 3 days and 2 nights in the luxurious bug-infested 10,000 Islands lol...Guess we kinda brought it on ourselves by planning our annual camping trip a month late...
We gathered supplies...

Thats a 3 man ration

We headed out of Caloosa Isle Marina in overloaded boats for a weekend of fun and maybe a shot at some big sharks...
As we arrived..our camp was already starting to form...

We continued to set up camp

Dustin brought his mosquito canopy which later proved to only trap mosquitoes in

As evening approached I began to prepare for battle

We landed 4 lemon sharks 7-8ft. Not the monsters we had hoped but still had a great time

Doug graciously volunteered to dump some blood

I made some grouper stuffed with spinach, portabella mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes and feta cheese...it was yummy

Here are some additional pics of the island...

Thats the Gulf just on the other side of those trees

The sandspurs were bad this time of year so the dogs didnt venture off far

Someone drank a lil too much on night 1 lol

Despite periods of insect invasion...pulling sandspurs out of everything...a few boat problems...1 girl to 6 guys...and no monster sharks...we never ran out of cold beer....AND we kept an 8 year tradition alive

Nice Ryan!!!, Looks like you guys were productive. Gonna start taking your advice and go down to single hook rigs. Plus gonna switch to 20/0 circles (screeeeeccchh)(nails on chalkboard).

Good Job!! I was out on a boat in Sanibel and and got a big jewfish, 8 ft nurse 1 6ft spinners and lost a monster Tiger(set up too quick)..

Hit me up duder..

We were actually using single and double hook rigs...big baita and small baits...i caught one of my 7ft lemons on a head half of a 50lbs AJ with double hooks...the bait was almost as big as the shark lol

Been looking at migratory patterns of big bull sharks, last time i checked they were deep in teh south end of 10,000 islands, probably pupping out, nice report, that many mosquitos would drive me insane

Just an average fisherman.

Super easy to make...heavy duty eye bolt with a gap big enough for leader to fit through but not the hook...screw it into a wooden dowel rod...sleeve dowl rod with pvc for extra strength...use epoxy and a few small screws to secure pvc and dowel rod...rope grip with duct tape wrapped around...prolly cost you $8...Ive had mine for 3 years w/out incident
