The three of us took a canoe through the mangrove swamps and into charlotte harbor to fish an island. We stuffed our shark gear into the canoe and paddled about two miles to reach this island. We had no luck in catching bait but when we got to the island we saw a lot of rays and mullet and ended up gigging 10 rays and castnetting 2 mullet. As soon as we got back from dropping the mullet off we get a run. Ended up being a 5'8" bull . After the first shark i get a run that cuts me off immediately. Since the oyster bars were too bad at this spot we moved our stuff to the backside of the island to fish the channel. We drop mullet and rays in the channel and not 5 minutes after the mullet gets dropped we get a run on the 6/0 and its a nice size bull it starts running for the channel markers so we didnt even think twice about jumping into the canoe and chasing it down. after getting hauled around for a while we try to inch our way to the beach but the bull spit the hook by the time we got a chance to land the canoe. after about 20 minutes we get another bull shark about 15-20 yards out. This one wasnt measured but im guessing 5 foot.

that sounds like alot of fun. do you know what island you were on cause i fish down there on the flats alot on my boat and we had always thought about fishing on one of the islands in a deeper spot for sharks
People think I'm nuts going into lake Superior in a kayak. But you guys chase bulls from a canoe!!!!

ok i think i know where that is we were thinking of going out on devilfish key and staying for a copule nights but never got the chance.We were also thinking about trying caya costa
