me nino and his little brother loaded the truck up around 4am and headed south to the keys we got to 7 mile and set up around 4pm or so. we put out the 14/0 the 12/0 and a 9/0 the 12/0 got the first run at just around sunset and it was a small pup shark i dont know if i pulled the hook or didnt hook it or what but we lost it oh well stuff happens you know? i rebait and throw the 12 out again then around 11:30 or midnight the 9/0 gets a smokin run nino sets up and fights his brothers first shark since he went to the truck for food. we get it on the pier it is a 5 foot black tip. sad to say i think it was dead when he got him on deck but we pulled the gaff out and gave the meat to some fellow fisherman on the pier i kept the jaw. so nothing but guts was waisted. the went was blowing out of the east all night and we couldnt ballon baits but we tossed them out. after the black tip there were no more runs 
but we had a good time. we are staying at the holiday inn on marathon tonight 10/23/2010 we may fish channel 2 tomorrow but still undecided. i will post pictures of the black tip and any other sharks we may catch when i get home tomorrow or monday. I am going to have o make some more trips down here i love it. next time i come it will prolly be a vacation trip and not a serious shark fishing trip.
