Quick Blacktip
Took most of the Lake Worth pier crew up to Juno. We had high hopes for this trip. 1-2 waves forecast. No seaweed.
4 Fresh Bonita. 100 pound ray.
Got to the beach and deployed baits. 12/0 got hit, we were trying a circle hook out, shark fought all the way in and hook pulled on the sandbar, haven't had good luck with circles. Jonathan and Eddy arrived and Jonathan put a chunk of bonie out which got hit while he was coming in. Jonathan set up with the "walking man", he was so tired after just kayaking out in rough surf with 20 mph east win, he could barely set hook. Brought it in, it was a blacktip. The most psychotic blacktip we've ever caught. It flipped and freaked out, giving a couple of us shark burn. Released it back into water and calmly swam away.
14/0 and 80W were clicking all night, no seaweed on line, but when we brought them up there was about 50 pounds of something that looks like wet hair. Very strange.
Surf got out of hand quick and called it night. Got one shark on the beach and had a great time with the crew.
Couldn't get hook, but was not guthooked, so swam away fine

It looked so calm in a single shot

Turkey pulling in weird hair stuff

They say If God gives you lemons ,you make lemonade,,,,, way to make it happen thru multiple set backs.Where's Eddy's cobia pic?
