Palm Beach Inlet South side Shark

Was fishing the Palm Beach jety south side on 10/7/11.
Caught a bunch of ladyfish & jacks and put them in a bucket.
It was about 3pm with a 30 mph wind due east. I was seing alot of spinner sharks & hammer heads
I put a dead jack around 3-4 lbs on a 12/0 hook with 275lb 8ft cable and a 6oz pyrmid sinker out.
Was fishing with my 9 1/2 foot gator glass blank with a penn 4/0 with 40lb mono. around 390 yards of line.
I had a surfer swim my bait out about 30-40 yards. The bait sat for about an hour and then got slammed.
The shark went south about 1/4 mile, so I ran off the jety and started walking the beach.
The fight was about 45 min and he took about 150-200 yards of line out.
I landed him on the beach and got the hook out and released him back in the ocean, he swam off fine.
I'm guessing its a Bull Shark or Black tip but I was hoping one of you guys would help me ID it.
Was about 150lbs 6'1 ft from head to tail. I'm 5'11 and he was alittle longer than me.

Nice Spinner. Don't think he will quite make 150 but still a nice catch and especially on the light tackle.

Just went fishing in the same spot 10/18.
Was throwing a spoon out trying to catch bait.
hooked a 4lb blue runner, got him in a put him out with the
tail cut off. I just received a Penn 9/0 115L2 as a gift from wifes dad and my mother.
It has around 700-725 yards of 50 mono. 12/0 J hook 275lb cable 8ft. & 6oz pyrmid.
The runner sat out for 30 min and I had 3 different sized spinners looking for it.
They all came in riding waves at different times and got close to my runner and then swam off.
This was aroun 5pm 5:30pm. Then a 4-5 ft spinner came in grabbed the runner.
He took drag for 10 secs and dropped it.
I'm going to try to bring a bigger bait there today.

def bigger bait to weed out those small ones now that you got a 9/0 and it should hold more than that cuz i got a daiwa 900h and i got a lil under 700 yards of 80 on mine and a 150lb spinner is about 7 ft or shorter and really really fat used to catch alot of them and blacktips before i started using 10lb and up baits lol

Try using lighter cable or even wire, the tippers are weird about riggings and even bait sometimes. You can catch a tipper on a cuda rigging and a mullet  save your nicer rigs for the bulls and stuff.

Went again today it was flat calm and cooler water temp. West wind almost hightide.
I caught a couple of 4-5lb jacks and had them out, nothing touched them.
I got a few large mud mullet around 5 lbs and had them out for and hour, and nothing.
I started cutting mullet and tossing them in and got a few rays to come in.
I put out another rod with chopped mullet heads and tried getting a ray for bait, but nothing.
Had a few large shadows come about 100 yards away from my bait
and saw them hitting macks & bluefish on the surface. There was over 5 different sharks hitting the bait.
Had a few large rays come in but never got a shark.

The blacktips aren't as hungry in the calmer waters

Just went again 10/24
A guy named Joe got a 15-20lb ray and let me have it.
Had a NW wind at around 3mph. Cut the sides & tail off the ray.
Put a 12/0 J hook in the front of the ray with 8ft of 275 cable.
And a punching baloon attached to the hook with 2 ft 15lb mono.
I had my wife and youngest child with me, this was around 6:45pm.
My wife was ready to go, and I had my bait out for only about 15 min.
So I brought the ray back in and unhooked him and put him back in the water.
I just got done getting all my gear in order and Joe and I spotted a 7-8ft Bullshark.
He had grabbed the ray right infront of us. All I could do was watch.
My wife was in shock and said the kids can't swim here anymore.
The bull grabbed the ray in 3-4ft of water. Made one pass and the whole ray was gone.
If I only would have fished it out for another 5 min.
