Nice pier. Looks 
like a good sharkfishing pier.
I used to fish that pier some in mid summer when the water would be hot in southern NC and not much going on. It used to be a cobia magnet, you could see dozens in a morning around the pillings. There have been sailfish and mahi caught off that pier before. The mahi happen every few years when the offshore currents swing in just right. Some of the thickest kings I have ever seen came from there also. I think I remember something about lots of Dusky sharks around up there back in the day.
used to fish on the bogue inlet pier in emarld isle nc. also the old risley pier aboard camp lejuene nc. risley pier has since fallen down. both those were great for spinners,blacktips, and bulls. used to catch kingfish and tarpon off of bogue inlet pier.
Thats about what all the piers on the outer banks look like,you need your sea legs to walk on em.Still a fun place to take the kids and get bait but most don't allow you to target shark.
THAT PIER LOOKS FINE! Thats from lake worth sharkers flipping hammers on deck...its just a few boards.........
