Okaloosa flats Bulls!

plan was to hit the surf but there was too much of that moss/ green grass in close and covered our line in seconds. We then decided to hit up the flats on okaloosa island.

I speared this guy yesterday just past the first sand bar.

made some baits out of it. Hannahs size 7 made it in there for reference.

12/0 got hit first but was broke off on the pick up. main line was shredded due to some underwater structure. as i'm re rigging Hannahs 9/0 gets hit but it drops it. I tell her to let it sit while i run the bait for the 12/0. as im paddling out the 9 starts screaming!

this is what i came back in to.

6'4" male

and the release

we ended up with 6 runs before 10:30pm and all but the two were cut off on structure. i think there is some kind of permanent barrier so the channel doesn't fill in and i was dropping near it and they swam over it. I can only imaging the rest were all bulls cruising the flats after those mullet and rays.

lost about $60 in rigs lastnight. I'll be back but running float rigs instead of letting it sink. thankfully we weren't using any weight, otherwise that would have been another $50
