I caught this hammer about 3 weeks ago. He was abouit 7ft. I wanted to tag him but he was worn out and my friend wasn't to farmiliar with the whole shark thing but still did a great job helping me. The line got wrapped around the prop or rudder so we cut the line and put it on a 6/0. Then the swivel wouldn't go through the eyes so I just tied the lines together. The shark was so tired he never pulled the line while I tied the knot. So I figured I had better get the hook and turn him loose quick. I didn't think a dead shark with a tag would help any research.
