My first/biggest Hammerhead... 14ft 2inches

The dorsal fin is distinctly pointed sickle shaped very different from the scalloped and the other is you'll never see a smooth or scalopped hammer anywhere near 14 foot long. The biggest hammers will always be the Greater Hammers.

As will said there's no possible way that the smooth or scalopped could get near that size. And a few of the other pictures justify it being a very large greater hammerhead. If the other two were to grow to 14ft everyone would be getting huge sharks. But anyway great catch yet again, hopefully i'll get the chance soon.

The biggest scallop I have heard of/ seen was 12ft, I've never seen or heard of a smooth hammerhead ever caught by a LBSFisherman, they are generally more north like in New Jersey/ New York areas.

Once again.

Awesome fish. Irregardless of what any other idividuals may think very very few of us can even boast that they have even approached an accomplishment such as this.

Be proud of that fish.

Anyone who cares to scrutinize this accomplishment, mock it or question its legality .... lets just say bitter jealousy is a sure enough sign of insecurity and its also a higher form of flattery if you ask me.

Had to sign up and make my first post here. Truly amazing catch! Some people spend a lifetime on the sand waiting for a catch like this. Great skill in landing this shark. What a blessing!

Don't know how I missed this!!
WOW!! THAT is a Beast, You know the word "awesome" is THE most misused word today,
But Your Great HammerHead is just that; AWESOME!And no mistaking that Dorsal,
Congratulations, wish I had been able to see that Fight, it's one for the "Books" for certain.
Take Pride in it ,Slasher, be proud, it's something that everybody that takes up a Fishing Rod for Sharks wishes they could do.

I keep hearing the same old thing from everyone.
I hear "Man, Marks shark was not 14ft 2 No way."
Well, I took some of my time tonight after talking to Mark, and this is what I came up with. The tail is bent in this picture so if it was straight it would be 14ft-14.25ft.
Take a look tell me what you think.
