Late fall report and the tiger lost...
Sorry i haven't posted a report in a while i recently got promoted at work and wasn't able to fish this summer as much as i had hoped too, anyway a few buddy's of mine managed to hit the beach a few times here's a few, big bull
One of are close friends has been letting us fish the local piers behind his condos my buddy managed a nice lemon and a small bull on his penn squall with 40# mono

the snook bite has been preety good

My buddy jason (ncsharker) has been doing some sharking off his own i was suppose to make it out to the beach both of these nights but couldn't find the time with the few miner cold fronts coming down comes surprise's jason decided to call me in the middle of the night to tell me the news, hammers were caught within days of each other sorry i couldn't get better pics jason only had a cell phone at the time

THE MONSTER LOST
My buddy jason and i had planned on hitting the beach one of these nights before a front had came threw, getting to the beach right before sun down, we concentrated on some long drops 400 yards, jason prepared to take out a ray that he had on his 12/0 and i planned on running a big mutton carcuss on my 14/0 we ran baits at sun down and soaked baits for a few hours b.s. and talked about some trips we would take next year, noticing there was some mullet in the surf jason wasted no time working the cast net to get some fresh mullet, i then ran a live mullet out on my 9/0 shortly after it got hit by a tipper jason wasted no time reeling his ray to put a fresh piece of bait out jason then ran the bait out, the bait probabaly soaked for a little over an hour before it got hit, a slow steady roll jason waited a few moments before engaging his drag, shortly after jason was hooked up too a nice fish that had no sign of stopping after a little while jason gave the fish a little more heat the fish just kept going and going a really powerful heavy fish, at the moment jason had screamed for me and asked to get his belt doing so i wasted no time to quickly get the belt around his waste i left jasons side again to grab the tail rope and harness, jason asked me quickly to grab the rod in the mist of the action so he could get his belt on it was intense to say the least to feel the power of the fish, ive hooked big hammers before, enough to know this wasn't a hammer as i began to say to jason something he was already chanting big tiger, realizing after a little while we had a big tiger hooked i wasted no time calling around to see if a friend was close by to help i wasnt going to leader this fish alone and risk losing her even making a fb status with no luck lol, facing the fact that i would have to leader this fish alone i began to get everything ready moments flew by as the fish came closer in left right left right even charging us for a short distance and somewhat becoming lazy, as the fish began to close in on the beach i began to get ready to leader the fish taking it slow as i started to see her tail show then shortly after dorsal fin she was def BIG est in the 10foot mark as she came close to beach i began to make my way into the wash i stopped for a second and looked back noticing how much pressure jason had on the fish as i had the leader in the hand i felt a thud and then snap i thought the line had broke but actually the hook had pulled right there on the beach nothing to do the fish swam off it was such a heart break , i felt bad for jason he has spent alot of time on the sand searching for a big tiger but you cant win them all, next time my friend youll get her for sure...
this was the only picture i had off jason hooked up all smiles on his face tonight

That's a KICK ASS REPORT !!.Great to see you and Jason teaming up, Ive seen he's been on the big hammers lately and it's just a matter of time before he nails that big Tiger he's been looking for. Thanks again.
