john (tarponj) texted me telling me to call this number, and i call it and its a guy claiming he has my avet combo! he described the details on the rod perfect and he wants me to pick it up tomorrow. gonna get it serviced and its going to be fishing with me again in no time. Mark thinks that davey jones has been fishing with it for awhile since its been soaking in big carlos pass, maybe itll be the lucky reel 
Wow that is awesome! Is he just going to give it back to you? If so that is really really awesome. At least the rod should be good after a solid cleaning and maybe a recoat.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I do believe that if this individual does not return the setup, he may be charged with theft..that is an expensive setup so I believe that is upgraded to grand theft. Just because something is lost does not mean possession is forfeited. I also believe he was required by law to report that he found this item.

Grand theft in state of fla is anything over 1500 or combination. Dylan that"s awesome that you are getting it back. word of advise but your intials or take pixs of all your expensive rods and reels that way if he wouldnt give it back to you. you have the pixs that clearly show that it is yours.

well i gave the lady enough information to find this guy anywhere, he has past criminal records, and they still are going to make me wait 10 days until i can even get a detective to help me out. john did some serious research and found mugshots, myspace, addresses etc.

the detectives job was pretty much done for him and now i have to wait ten days that fishing pole is as good as gone.
