Hammer time! Beach was on fire and the bulls were there too

Adam started the year off right! He was down from Canada, only had time to drop one bait but damn it paid off for him. A big bull came by, bumped his bait, then hit mine, stole it and went back for his bait, with vengeance!

8'9" healthy Girl!

I had a week off of work and I was ready to head west due to the heavy east winds. I had already been skunked on the bridge and I needed some ocean action. While heading to the inlet I checked the for rain and noticed the winds were dying down and the beach was doable.......Called my boy and told him it was the beach instead, I'll yak baits!

I got nice hammer, probably 9 - 9.5ft. Came in super green, was more than a handful, just dehooked and released without a hitch. Later on something got caught in the line and cut me off when I got tight.

The next day I went back to the beach and there was another group out there with more people on the way. I walked down a good ways to stay out of the way. About 30 minutes after I dropped the bait I got a good run. Slapped a thick 8'2" bull on the sand. The guys ran down and put a tag in her and got some pics.

Now my boy showed up so I put him on the out side. One rod to my right and at least four rods to my left, I decided I would wait and debate on running a bait. As the tide approved, I decided to run one more, what the hell.

To my surprise, I get another run in about 45 minutes, Hooked up to a nice fish! Knowing that hammers were in the area, I put some serious heat on her. My arms and legs were tired when she got to the sand, but she wasnt! Someone yelled "Hook pulled" but they grabbed the tail and wrestled for a minute to get a rope on her. One of the roookies screwed the pooch on the tape, but she was at least 10'6" (we had 10'1" on tape but they had her head up and back, I wasnt aware of this at the time since I was on the tail) regardless, good catch, clean tag and release. No help needed for her to swim off. It was now 59 degrees and I went and jumped in the water to cool off LOL.

I had to go the next day even though I didnt have a sidekick. I got hooked upp to a nice fish, she burned some serious drag, I put more heat on her and almost couldnt handle it! but I broke her spirit and got her turned. Keeping the heat on her, I called my boy Matt and he was there in 6 minutes, He showed up as her fins popped up.

Another hammer, 9'2" surprisingly small given the battle LOL. Just goes to show, it isnt the size of the fish in the fight, it is the size of the fight in the fish! She whooped us on the sand. Another clean release, no help needed for the fish to swim off. Big shout out to Matt. it was his help that ensured the easy release!

Went out the next night and had a bull come by, He stole my bait, took a nice bite out of another bait, then we had a good run on the last bait but he dropped it. Reeled in a fist size chunk off what was much much larger LOL. Went out the next day with the surf rod and got a tipper. That was my last fish. 4 nice fish in 3 days, My personal best hot streak!

Now I think I am on three trips without a bite, back to reality LOL!

Let me get my first shark over 11 ft before I start dreaming of winnin tourneys! But I keep trying!

Thx for the nomination. It really means a lot to me. I have come a long way since my first post on this forum!

My success (luck) would not have been possible without the SFSC.
