Gulfport
The beach there is bay like kinda. the deep water is way off shore and a back wash from the missippi river makes it muddy most of the time. I have never herd of anyone fishing the area but I bet its packed with big bulls during the summer. One thing to notice, when there are alot of rays sometimes they get the line hung across theyr head and it sounds like a good run. Sometimes a manta will cut or frey ya line if ya set the hook. A shure way to notice ray runs is when the line has alot of slack like the fish has toated the bait back towards the beach. Also ya will get more than one reel going off at once. The only way to solve the problem is to run a slack line so the line will be on the bottom(if the surf allows). Get some charts and find some water over 20' deep with a steady sloping botom. Good luck, ya may be fishing vergin LBSF waters.
