Got off work at 7 rushed home, picked up the 12/0 from kyles house got the yak and stuff, picked up stevie since kyle had a baseball game and chase had a lax game and headed for the beach. Got baits out by 9:30, I had very high expectations, water was warming up, incoming tide, baits were frozen but a nice big jack and a 5lb or so bluefish, and reports of big bulls everywhere and knowing that they had been around this beach for a few weeks I was ready to bow up on king kong. Around 10:30 the 12/0 bounces, pulls a bit of clicker then goes slack. I reel up the slack as fast as i can only to find out a bluefish ate the splice from 80 to 100lb. Decided to wait and see what happened to stevies bait before paddling another bait then a bluefish at the swivel on his rod. I still had bait but left knowing that it would just happen again. Going again tonight with kyle to a different spot, hopefully we'll get em this time.
