Fort Walton beach bulls and tippers

e fished from wed. the 3rd till sunday the 6th, taking the 4th off of course to party, using mullet, ladyfish, snapper heads and amberjack and all we had to show was a monster sting ray. that ray apparently broke Dons 9/0. it felt like the dog was catching both ways. Unfortunatly we didn't notice this until after we sent out a bait this past tuesday afternoon.

i hit up okaloosa pier and got a round ray from a guy. it was just big enough not to lay flat in the bottom of a 5 gal. bucket. we went down the beach a littile bit and cut it in half across the midsection and sent it out on Dons 9 and my 12/0 and a whole mahi head on my 9/0.

2 pieces of ray. 2 sharks. mine was a 6'10" bull that we tagged and his was about 6'6" bull but i didn't have another tag. the mahi had a small bite mark in it at the end of our session.

Hannah was on the camera the whole time. waiting for "her" 9/0 to get hit.. it had been almost three months since she caught a shark.

Saturday we were back at it. i tried spearing some rays but the water was super murkey and we had a bad rip in the first gut making it almost impossible to stay on them. hit up the charters and scored a big jack crevalle, some bonita strips and king carcass.

Hannah landed two black tips, one on king and another on a JC steak. i had the back half of the jack out on my 12/0 and got picked up, its smoked my drag for a good 100 yards, stopped for a second then began to run again when it bit through my cable... re rigged and sent out the front half of the jack and got a 6'4" bull. I also went out and got heavier wire (1/16th SS cable) and some more 20/0 mustads. hopefully they dont bit though this one..
