After a long time,Way to long we finally got a baby sitter and decided to try out our luck in Fort Pierce. We hit the West end catwalk about 10 pm.With a case of beer gone my girlfriend, friend (friend wasnt drinking) and I came stumbling along to a ripping out going tide with millions of lady fishing blowing up the water.Laded a Nice lady fish dropped him down for a goliath. About 10 minutes goes by and my buddes 9/0 is ripping out.By the time we got to the rod the fish took us in a hole.Time for more lady fish.We landed about a 30 inch lady fish I quickly hooked him just behind his anal fin tied on a balloon and out he went. 20 minutes later the avet 80w takes of like a bat out of hell.Keep in mind my last couple of trips have not produced and had been nothing but misserable. The first thought was F*** a damn boat. But to my surprise when I looked up there wasnt a vessel in sight with in the turn basin. After a 50 yard dash to my rod the shark dropped the bait -_-.So I had to do some quick thinking I put the reel in high gear and started to crank faster then I have ever done before.Upon retreiving the lady fish I was able to antagonized the fish once more and boom he was on.It was kind of like fishing a crank bait for sharks. That was pretty awesom. As soon as I hooked him i held the rod tip high and the fish broke water.. HUH a TARPON!!! yelled everyone I Said no way in hell. After an intense 20 minute battle in that ripping out going tide we landed this little fella he was just shy of 6' and every bit of 125 lbs or more. he was released un harmed and swam away for another day.BTW... I need to hose my rod up i forgot and well luckily it didnt get messed up on the rails.
