I recently bought a Penn Senator 14/0 from cfronczek89!
The reels great, ever since i've got the new reel i've been just excited to fish and try to go fish every chance i get. I usually always go with Mike, aka Fishinfool91.
We got some nice bonita, and we were ready to fish!
Me and Mike hit the beach around 6:30 and it was really quite since its been a rainy day, the ocean was like glass. So we cut the bonita in half and split it. Mike got the head and i got the tail, and we were ready to fish.
Mike takes his bait out first a good 300-350 yards on his 12/0. And I take mine out about 150-160 yards. 20 minutes later the reel goes off. Let it eat a little bit, and Mike goes to set the hook since I'm still learning. Sadly we lost the fish, there were definite bite marks and the rock was gone.
Take the bait back out about the same distance, but the rock came loose. So took the bait out for the 3rd time the same distance. After about an hour my reel goes off again, Mike sets the hook, and this time we are on the fish. I'm beyond excited at this point, my first shark on my own reel.
After about a 15-20 minute fight we landed the shark, at first we thought it was a big black tip, but once we got a better look realized it was a small bull. Didn't measure it but seemed to be about 6-7 feet. I was very happy with my first catch.

Sadly we couldn't take our hook out, but we did take another hook out that was in the shark before we cought it.

I just got my first shark on my 14/0 a couple weeks ago off pompano beach, looks just like that one (small female bull). If the hook was a big black LP circle wrapped in electrical tape (on the right side of the mouth), it was probably mine. Tried to get it out with no luck so I got the shark back in the water quickly.

Dude that's weird I thought it looked like an LP, thats what we used.

Nice, first shark on my pumpkin 12/0 was a 5-6ft bull on halloween. Mighty fine co-inky-dink y'all found with that shark.

Congratulations on your first shark on your 14/0 and the hook incident is not all that strange many times sharks will frequent a certain area and be caught a few times(we've seen it in the past) before moving off to new hunting grounds chasing bait, or migrating because of the change in seasons,water temps, or mating habits.
