First Land Based Shark!

This past memorial weekend, my family took our annual trip to the Keys. I was really hoping to catch my first shark here. On the beaches we stayed at, there were huge schools of sardines swimming just off the shore. Luckily I had my cast net and I was able to load up on them. On Saturday, I lost a big snook on a sardine because I tied a crappy knot. Decided to go to a little bridge to catch some shark bait. There my brother and I were able to catch a jack and a cuda. Later that day, I drove to a spot just south of Long Key Bridge. I thought this was a good spot because Ive heard a lot of good stories about Long Key on here. I had two 9/0s and deployed my baits at around 4pm and didnt get a hit until around 530-6pm. I had a solid run on the 9/0 with the cuda, hooked up, and after tightening the drag, I thought this was a small shark. It didn't pull any drag but changed direction a lot. Twice, I almost had my line cut off from a boater driving 30 yards off the shore and a jetski driving at around the same distance. Almost lost the shark twice which got me really nervous. Fight took around 20minutes. When I first saw her, I didn't realize I had something that big on the end of my line. I am pretty sure its a lemon shark and I didn't measure it but I'd guess its between 5-6 feet long. Tried to make the release as quickly as possible because I know how crucial that is to the sharks survival. My dad took a couple pictures and then she swam away strong. I had to leave a couple inches of rig in her mouth because of the rocks and this being my first time with a shark, I was a little nervous and thought that I should get her on her way as soon as possible. Hopefully I did everything right and this will be the first of many.
