Finally Some West Coast Action
Manny and I went out to the Venice Pier(Sharky's). We kayaked out 4 whole Cownose Rays and 4 Huge mullet. All the bait were set out just before sunset, by 8 pm Manny's Avet 80W was screaming he runs to the rod sets hook and the fish is still peeling line off the reel 30 sec. of pulling line out and the fish was out in the line of crab traps well that ended that. By 9 pm my new Avet 80W was hit let it run and set up and there was nothing there. I set the rod back down and 20 min. later he was back for more I picked up the rod and set hook right and lock down the drag, if he would have taken any more line out a crab trap would have cut me off for sure. 20 min. later he was at the pier and released. There was 2 bulls caught both of them were 8 foot range and 225-250 lb range. Here's a few pics.

You guys catch two big bulls and John catches a nice lemon in the past week or so. Sounds like you guys on the west coast are just skipping the whole sandbar run and getting to the big stuff early
Those sound like some nice bulls! I just can't see the picture.
great catch travis
