its impossible to shark fish on the west coast because of all the crab traps
you cant even get a bait 80 yards out....
and each trap is 5 yards apart......
stone crab season is in fulll swing on the west coast....
get there be for dark and start cutting

Yeah dude I'm with ya and hate stone crab season and it lasts until may which sucks. This time of year I find its more worthwhile to go over to the east coast and fish. Get bait locally and screw even taking the time to drive out to the local beach. There have been many days I made the drive 2 hours south to venice and boca, couldn't find a place to fish and then took hwy 70 or 27 three hours across the state and fished Jensen or west palm cus' the crab traps were so thick.
I just went out Fri. TRAPS ARE EVERYWHERE! HUNDREDS all over Indian Rocks Beach! Starting at like 50yds out as far as the eye can see! I slung some Shad and Ladyfish anyway to no prevail.
Stone Crab season??? Its funny how different things can be in the same state!

I STILL CANT FIND A CLEAR ENOUGH BEACH TO FISH! 
Sarasota's got a couple beaches that are clear, as well as AMI and Cortez, hit me up if you need some exact locations in the northern 941 area.
Im kinda stuck between Pass a Grille jetty and Clearwater pass due to lack of gas. Considering the St.Pete pier or rowing the mini beaches near the pier (northshore) or something. Never tried out there before though. Thanks for the help by the way.
