Close call with a Hammer!

In the world of land based shark fishing, there is no better site than seeing a sickle shaped fin breaching the surface. Last week we were able to get on an epic shark bite including some daytime stuff. On one of these nights my buddy Ryan Morie had been hooked up to a blacktip shark when my 14/0 let out a cry from hell. I got strapped into the harness as Ryan and the crew were landing his blacktip and immediately I knew we had a nice fish on, thinking it was a big female bull based on the area we were fishing. The shark took 50 yards of line on the first run, but after hammering the drag i was able to stop the fish dead in its tracks. After a short 15 minutes we got a glimpse of the sight we dream of seeing. The unmistakeable slender fin of a big greater hammerhead. The landing of the shark was not an easy feat, as Ryan Morie, Cam and Cole quikly scrambled to get the tail rope on the big shark. I watched in awe as I saw them getting thrashed around in the surf. The shark was released and we didn't even get pics as our camera malfunctioned and we noticed the shark was bleeding so we tried to get it back in the water ASAP. We got on a real hot bite last week with a lot more teeth to post ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gdVjKxGg5E
