Bull busters again! 12/8/08-12/9/08
Well again we venture out to our stomping grounds and we have the same luck as before two bulls this time one huge one that we lost and the other about 200 lbs .I just wrote the story and lost it when i hit the submit button so i will write it again later when i am again in the mood to write and recount the story so for now here are the pictures and part of the story.I hope you enjoy the short version.

Jimmy and i with Jimmy's 22 inch grouper that was released
The first night was uneventful with only two small sharks that tore the wings off the bat ray Jimmy was using for bait on his 12/0. we had a plan for the second day of fishing -we would work hard from the early morning to catch some frsh shark bait.
Nothing works better for catching fish on these bridges then a live pinfish fished by a piling and jimbo's sons have very well learned all the tricks from the old man .Here he is with his tarpon that i netted and released for him.
Jimmy is such an outstanding fisherman that he always impresses even his old man that taught him.
In the late morning Jd and Jimmy went to fish another bridge to produce the type of bait that would gurantee shark hits and by golly they got what they needed. With a nice big cuda that Jimmy caught on a tube lure.

In the late afternoon as i prepared a sushi appetizer and fried fish dinner with two yellow jacks i caught using live pinfish the boys showed up with the fresh bait they were looking for and 5 mangrove snappers to ad to the meal.

Jimmy and i hold the cuda and the two rods that would be baited with the fresh offering.
As we were settling down for the evening Jimbo and jimmy put out there two chunks of cuda and Jimbo was quickly rewarded for the days hard work with an awesome hit from a shark that ripped out 200 yards in the first three minutes of the fight. The shark was so powerful and it was set on going left and towards the string of lobster pot bouys so Jd had to angle out and go to the right as far as he could to the end of the bridge in an attempt to keep the line away from the bouy ropes.I was filming from the begginning the incredible fight the shark was giving Jd on my camcorder.Again it was like dejovue a double header Jimmy's 12/0 takes off as his father is fighting his own shark.Right before nightfall and again a double header.

So now Jimmy is hooked up to our left and i'm trying to help them both and film the action at the same time and having to run back and forth to lend a hand. Then Jimbo whose expierience has taught him what can and will happen when a shark is strong enough to want his way says he thinks "it's gonna get tangled in the rope"and a minute later he has thick gloves on his hands and is hand lining the shark trying to free it from the rope but it's no use the hook pulls but Jimmy is still on his fish so we run over to help him out,but this shark is much smaller and not busting our you know whats.

Trying to free the shark from the lobster trap rope i tried to put some muscle to it but to no avail.

Jimmy is hooked up and working his shark like a champ.

Jimmy's bull comes up

Jimmy took control of his shark fairly quick but his dad had a much larger more powerful shark on his 14/0.

Later that night the snapper action was starting. That night after dinner i took a one hour nap and had to pack up and head home because i had to work the next day.To me it's therapy for the mind and soul to come out to these bridges and breathe the fresh ocean air, sleep under a clear star filled night, and get a chance to disconnect from all the problems of the world.Every week i look forward to spending time out here with close friends and waiting to catch the next monster but whether i catch or don't catch the older i get that becomes less important then the soothing affects that this place has on my spirit and the therapy of being outdoors. After i left that night a friend of our Herbert(cudaman) showed up and fished with Jimbo and Jimmy.Great times with great friends.
