Has anyone ever used a bluefish for bait caught a few 10lbs last night wondering how they will work?

Blues are a great bait. They are a very oily fish. I've seen small blacktips eat them all the way up to giant hammer heads. An 800lb tiger shark in north Carolina was caught on a blue a few years ago. But I do recommend keeping the bait off the bottom they are also a favorite of crabs.

I got my 10ft tiger on a chunk of bluefish.

Just an average fisherman.

That's one of my favorite bait for small-mid size sharks. Stingray's is my other favorite for bigger ones.

I think every Bluefish I have ever put out has been hit. I rarely get them though. Great bait if you ask me.

bluefish are usually found ,the same palce as shark's,or should i say shark's follow the blue fish, who follow the mullet,so when you catch a bluefish you should have a rod on standby, ready to go,put a single or doulble hook in his but and send him back out. it should not take long before you're reel starts to sing.

Do you have any more on the 800lb NC tiger caught. I'd like to find out more info on that if you've got it.

Blue fish is great. If they as big as a Bonita they are just as good. Beware, they will bite ya line in two quick. Get the blue in fast and sometimes it will swim back out for ya.

I like bluefish for taco's, crab bait and blacktip bait in that order. When the run is on I use the heads. I'm only after smaller blacktips.

Love the big Blues offshore for Mako but every time I put a surf caught smaller one it gets giant rays.
