Blacktips and more Blacktips
If you enjoy catching 5 to 6ft Blacktips and you live in the Volusia County area, then grab your gear son and hit the beach ASAP. The mullet are a million thick, and the sharks are in the trough. No need to kayak your baits out any further than the sandbar, they are crashing on the bait right at the shoreline. I went out around 12 yesterday and fished for only 3 hours before having to head to work at Bonefish Grill. In total 3 Blacktips were caught, smallest (from nose to tip) was 5ft 8 in, the biggest 6ft 2in/98lbs. I went out by myself this trip but there were so many sharks i double hooked up with my Senators and had to flag down another fisherman down the beach XD the one he landed was the big guy and it was his first REAL shark, he was very happy lol I even told him that he should release it as well. I followed him out there giving him tips and pointers and making sure the shark was fully revived before he released her.
I'm going back out right now after posting this, so maybe a 2nd report will come
*also, it's really hard for me to tell the difference sometimes but is the last pictured shark a Spinner? The dorsal and nose seem different...*
