Blacktip - Video

The blacktips are starting to show up around the Broward County area. In the past few days I have seen several caught and landed one myself. Most of them are in the 40 to 75lb range. Hard to find time to fish these days. Anyway for the report. Got to "the spot" around 8 p.m. Had a late start because I had to work. Tried to get some baits out with balloons but the current wasn't in our favor. Decided to put the TLD50 and International 50w away and cast out my Saragosa 18000f with a small Blackfin Tuna head on it. It was about 45 degrees and I was freezing my nuts off waiting for a bite so I wasn't about to kayak any baits out. I noticed something weird out in the ocean. I see huge blasts that look similar to bonito but they were wayyyyy too big. I run over to my Saragosa to cast at the explosions and before I can get to it the drag starts peeling out. The bite happened around 12 a.m. Pick up the reel, tighten the drag, and hold on. Below is a picture of the Blackip. Not that big but was a good fight to break in my brand new setup. I also have a video of the fight that I will post a link to below. I missed the initial run on video but got the rest. Enjoy!
