Big Tiger on the 7 mile bridge

Just got a report from JD Fagan that on Friday night he was out on the end of the seven mile bridge ,Jimmy Hancock and some other west coast sharkers were also there.Jd Fagan hooked a big shark on his 9/0 and someone with a spotlight screamed out"IT'S A TIGER"In the spotlight there was 10 to 11 foot Tiger the shark picked up a small bait straight down .The Tiger fought and fought and then shot under the bridge and when he tried to stop it his Texas built rod bent like a C snapped ,the line also snapped and his dream Tiger was gone.Time to buy a Chaos 10 footer,,,,,,,I can gurantee you it won't snap and time to consider only 130 on the bridges.

Yea, we met up with him out there.. we all headed down for a 4 day labor day weekend trip.. got about 10 lobster, 20 snapper.. and then two lemons.. the pics are on my buddy's camera so ill get up as soon as possible... we were a little down the bridge from jd fagan.. some other guys we know from venice decided to go.. i think they got a 6 ft bull.. jd fagan also caught a lemon that night off 7-mile if i remember.. but yea he had at least a 9-footer shoot from the bridge side - up under the pier and snapped his big rod right by the first guide.. i didnt get to see it happen but i saw the rod afterwards.. it was sick!!

Where there is one there is another. Just need to figure out what they are there eating. A big shark like that will eat a small bait. What its after is not candy bar size. Will you drive to town for a peanutbutter cup, or a big fat steak. When a shark gets that size its diet totally changes from what it was eating at 9'. Not shure how the bridge yall fishin is but ya can swing ya pole under the bridge. Tie something on the end of a roap and swing it untill someone can catch it on the other side. then tie it to the pole and swing it under. I have done it on navare pier a couple times. Like Will said, get some 130 or bigger with an unlimited class rod. Good luck next time.

Dang, you'll get em next time back when there were tigers at juno this may my buddy got one around 10 on the 9/0 and one around 8 on the 30w. None went close to going underneath, but they both ate bonita chunks balloned out to them and he just locked down and turned em said the little guy didn't do much but the big one made a nice run. I guess if you got the amount of current that is down there in the keys you could get broke off. But from everyone i know that's got a tiger says they don't fight much but the do make damn good pictures.

The tigers are are very unpredictable in there fights .i've caught 3oo lbers that swam behind the boat and did not fight much and then I've caught even bigger ones that also have not put up much of a fight BUUUUTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!! the ones over 11 foot that i have caught have fought pretty hard for the most part; and the bigger, the stronger the fight .My 13 footer In Bimini just about killed me for an hour and 20 minutes,,,,he was whooping me in the June sun in th emiddle of the summer .We had her to the boat 4 different times before we were able to subdue her.
On heavy line the smaller ones tire easy but the big ones can be a problem for a long while.

here's the 13 footer whooping my Arse
