i headed out with my buddy ben to the beach with the 9/0 and the 6/0 and the 14/0. as i was about to be deployed out to sea ben and i spot a sandbar shark about 6 feet out in shallow water, right in front of us. so i run for the 6/0 to cast at him, but he left. it was cool to see a shark in that shallows chasing bait. so i kayak the baits out and we take a break. when bens 9/0 gets hit he doesnt wake up even my yelling for him to wake up was useless. so i proceeded to set the hook. i did a running man down the beach and the reel began to scream and the 100 lb mono sliced my shoulder. i fight the shark yelling for ben but hes out. evetually when i really needed him i woke him up manually. so he could leader the shark. the result was a big fat sandbar shark.

how was the fight?
it was on my buddies 9/0, about a 20 minute fight he took off as soon as i hooked him. burned my shoulder i got a nice slice. it was on a 12 foot gator and in the middle of the fight the reel quit reeling. so we had to handline him over the sandbar
Them 12ft rods make an interesting fight! nice fish, one time my 9/0 got dumped and I didn't wake up...

Way to GO PARTNER Thats one big sand bar. I catch more sharks that way when my partners are asleep and do not wake up.
