Big Mako Shark at lake worth pier
Today a fisherman lost a monster 9 to 10 foot Mako shark ,he was not fishing for shark.
He hooked this monster on small Avet with a sardine .As soon as I get the Pics Jonathan has I will post them.

"Here's what Jonathan got with his camera phone. Definitely looks different than any bull I've seen on top. I'd say Mako"

Can't wait to see someone land a mako at lake Worth pier or the great white would be even better.
On the downside of that would be all the bs the cops would start and then the local goverment would go into some hysterical post catch frenzy .Oh well !! if and when it happens we will deal with it.
Never seizes to amaze me the outdated mindset of most commisioners of these old seaside communities and there ancient fear of sharks prevails instead of good common sense.Have these old foggy's running these little towns by the sea noticed it's 2011 and sharks are not waiting to eat every swimmer that goes in the water??

when i saw that shark it looked almost purple it was beautiful, ya gotta believe me it was a mako shark
Based on the color that you mentioned, this seems more to be a longfin mako shark, which in state of florida is categorizes as a prohibited species to harvest. Although the shortfin mako shark can be harvest, but the color of the body is more blue rather then purple.

longfin makos are twice as rare as shortfins, all you gotta do is look at the pectorals, either way, you'll be seeing me at lakeworth, fishing for anythign that wants to bite my hooks
Just an average fisherman.

Shortfin or longfin who gives a flying crap -A MAKO FROM PIER IS A WORTHY WORLD CLASS CATCH!!!
Get em boys!!!
