well took my 6/0 and 9/0 up to the bridge last night and put out a couple of grouper heads while the tide was slow. baits sat for about 2 hours then my 9/0 started slowly going off. i walked over but i just figured it was the tide pulling on my bait. it didnt take long before it was singing and i untied my rod and set the hook. fish was on and pulling drap with ease. not 30 sec into the fight my line pops! i pulled line off my reel this morning and found a few bad nicks in my line so had to pull off bout 100 yards worth. next time i will get him! but the fish are there. ive lost some nice fish recently but one of these nights i will get me a nice one. i lost a fish on my 12/0 a few weekends ago on a 40" grouper carcass. my steel leader had a nice bend in it about 2 ft above the hooks. sucks when the hooks pull but like i said ill get em one day. cant catch a fish sitting on the couch goodluck guys
that bridge has been real hit and miss for me, some nights its on fire others im lucky to get one run
yea i went there twice in last few weeks and had runs both times and got cut off both times. im going there again in next few days but this time bringing the 12/0 and rippin lips off lol
