big bridge ray.. doomsday fishin

hung out around the beach looking for bait skating around, and fishing. our transportation for this trip was skateboards, bikes, taxis, and trolleys. all we could manage was a little trout. so we headed to the beach house around sunset, ate, rigged up and caught the trolley. michael busted his hand while trying to do tricks on his bmx bike. and it started bleeding everywhere on the trolley , so i fashioned a newspaper and electrical tape tourniquette/bandage thing.


we dropper half the trout on the 9/0 and the other half on his 50w. an hour later the 9/0 is getting bumped and before it even ticks i run away from a piling and yank the the rays face! at first i thought it was a big jewfish. it pulled all over the place cutting going for piling. and im squeezing the spool so that he doesnt pull any drag but it was useless. he burned off line under the bridge for about ten seconds. im having michael tell me where to run and where the pilings are. that 12 foot gator and the 9/0 with 100 lb mono was perfect. awesome fight, we were surprised when it surfaced and it was a 5 foot ray laying there. so we made something out of nothing. came to the bridge with barely any bait and ended up with too much .

so we ended up freezing our balls off so we called a cab. this was interesting. i grabbed a trash bag and put the massive ray into it. and snuck it into the cab drivers trunk. he never even knew we had it . got back to the house and snoozed.
