beach and shark island fishing

weve been fishing a few various places here on the west coast, i havent caught any sharks because ive been dropping baits that are 20 lbs and over and they havent been getting hit. we hit one of our favorite beaches twice without much luck. then decided to try for the treachorous water moccasion and mosquito filled shark island!! by far one of the most difficult places youll ever fish but holds a great deal of sharks. trip one was the beach, my friend riley picked me up from my house and we headed out. since he doesnt have a rod i let him use my 6/0. we only had my little sit inside kayak to take baits out in because my big one was at a friends house.
i dropped a mackerel on the 6/0 and shortly after it got hit, i did the running man and handed the rod over to riley, it was a small blacktip.

couldnt pass this up i rigged it up and cut its gills and sent it back out

that was extremely difficult to kayak out and drop, i ended up getting my hand in its mouth somehow and got little teeth marks all over my hand.
as we waited the 6/0 gets hit again. i set hook and it didnt pull drag, handed it off to riley and he reeled it in unil it got stuck for some reason. so i grabbed the rod and went out on the kayak but ended up losing the fish and got my hooks out
we went to the same beach a few days after and ended up only getting a few runs and the sharks ended up dropping the baits.
then we went to shark island a few days later. we had no bait because usually we end up being able to get lots of bait there. this time we fished it differently and went to another location that seemed to have less rocks, because weve been losing big fish at the other part of the island. caleb and a new buddy of ours that builds really cool rods snook fished while i set up camp. ben got this snook.

if u look close you can see the shark scars on the snook. then caleb snuck up on a big school of fat mullet and netted the crap out of them.

as soon as the sun went down the rays came in i stabbed 4 small ones and ben took over to get a big 30 lber.

ben was first to hook up on his twelve foot rod that he built himself and his 9/0
a nice 5' 8" bull with teeth marks on its back.

next up is caleb with his signature fighting method

on the way back home as we kayaked through the canals i ened up having a hole in my kayak causing me to sink :?
