backwater bull 11/27/13
finally got out to soak some baits and it paid off. I have been super busy lately.... so here's the report
we got a very late start (10pm) with no bait. it wasn't looking to good with the cold weather starting and lots and lots of rain and no bait. we made a stop by one off the filet boards around 1045ish and sure enough we managed one little black drum carcass and headed to the bridge. We finally got there around 12, we made a stop a taco bell to wait out a big storm. after getting to the bridge we realized we had no balloons @#$%! We dropped the bait strait down... after a short wait we caught a catfish on one of the little rods. after some convincing I managed to get Austin to put the cat out on his 50w live. he told me it wouldn't work.. it wasn't 30 minutes when we heard the coffee grinder go off. it ran off about 50 yards and we set the hook, it missed... we left the bait sit where it was dropped; 10 minutes later it is picked up again after another 50 yards where ran off we set the hook again. this time it stuck after a short fight we had the bull vertical. we beached him got our pictures and let him go he swam off great, we walked back up the bridge and got baits out again.. the rest of the night was uneventful, the rain started to come down hard so we left around 2.
pics will be posted tomorrow as the are on the phone need to get them off
dont ever count out anything as bait, one time i use a peacock bass and caught a blacktip.
