I hooked into my first shark at the same exact time as my buddies did the night before (not the first time this has happened). We soaked casted and yaked baits 5.5 hours before the bite turned ONNNNNN. The shark picked up a casted bait and I had to do a few over/unders with Ineedabonita's 12/0. I was free of the 12/0 and SHARKON!!! I handed off the rod to Jersey Bill II so I could land the shark. The circle was in the perfect spot. The shark was released to fight another day. 3 other rods were soaking while i rigged up. I casted out another piece of cuda and I was on in 2 min. My friends were pissed to say the least. The shark was almost double the size of the 1st one and it forced me to sit in the sand with my spinning gear for a few seconds after about the 4th time it took drag and was jumping. Unfortunately, they didn't take any photos of the second shark. They were to busy moving their rods to the other side of me looking for the hot bite. I rigged up, casted a bait and I was cut off within 5 min. while my buddies sat around and watched their rods. Greg had a run but the shark did not commit. It was a great way to start the season with a great group of guys.

snook hunter, did you had your hook taped with electrical tape? Looking at the de-hooking picture that's what it seems.

Nice work Chris. Did you get a new rod for that reel? I'm gonna give it a go in a couple days or so.

Good to hear from u- i ask brett to come out but it didn't work.

I found a good deal so I picked up an ocean master 12footer, fin nor 9500 and 65lb braid plus other stuff for pennies on the dollar.

Let me know when your going out and I'll drag Brett out of the house.
