A few lemons in the keys

Well I finally got some time to get back to Miami and get some stuff done and get down to the Keys. My buddy Joe came along for the ride. We head out of Hialeah last tuesday for 2 solid nights of bridge fishing. We head straight for the seven mile to start with. When we get there, the tide isn't in our favor we start fishing anyway, I drop a bait straight up and down...not even 20 minutes later I've got two lemons on the surface circling the bait, thought it'd be a good photo opportunity. I love seeing the sharks on the surface cruising for bait. So he circles a few times, bumps it and I'm just watching and waiting, then bam he eats it. I let him eat put the 9/0 in gear and set up on him. I start fighting him down the bridge because he's trying to wrap me. I fight him in between the bridges for about 15 min. and we get him released, he was right over 6ft. An hour later after the sun sets we get a steady run on the 14/0, same thing let him eat and set up and we're on again. He pulled some good drag but got him subdued pretty quickly, about the same size as the last right at 6ft. Spent the rest of the night fishing for snaps and what not, current was ripping hard so the bite turned off. Next day get some rest and spent the day fishing for snaps, cudas and jacks. Put out a half of bonita I had on the outgoing and we get hooked up about an hour later on the 14/0. He takes some line over the flats heading north, eventually we slow him down and he's trying to dive under the bridge, but my 10 ft. chaos worked like a champ and kept him from going under, we walk him down and get him released. Overall a decent trip, got to love the keys.

I spy with my little eye; a nice pic for the "best rod bend" section. Very good Sunset too, nice to see the sharks picking up steady again.

Just an average fisherman.
