Carl was on the rod, I was on the camera and tagging, and Marcus beached the shark. We thought that some of Carl's buddies who were bragging about all the sharks he catches from a boat was going to help Marcus land the shark, however that did not happen. He had the best intentions until the shark showed his true colors.

The Hammer charged the entire way in. Carl could not reel fast enough to keep up with the shark. The hammer was thrashing and turning. The shark was "GREEN". Not sure where that green saying comes from, unless that describes the look on our faces when we had to go land a fat wild beast, or should I say when Marcus had to go land a fat wild beast.

Marcus did take a few shots in the ribs and legs. Carl jumped in the mix and took one across the head. I stayed on the camera and tagged the Wilder-beast.

Fish was tagged, hooked removed and had no problem swimming away.

YES it was. He was telling us all about the sharks he catches on boats in the keys. Then he experienced land base shark fishing. He was in charge of the battle bucket which we lost about 3x. I found the dehooker about an hour latter. We kept calling his name and he was standing still in awe. We were busting on him afterward and he said, "This was my first rodeo and its much different then a boat. I usually pop the hook and the battle is done. Now I know what to do." In his defense, he has never seen a shark landed on the beach and it was an angry shark.
