7 Miler no Pics

Nothing picture worthy but, Fished seven mile around 7pm-3am. Got there lost two tarpon and caught a couple of grovers. Proceeded to walk down the bridge and got a decent size horse eye jack my first from land, saw a couple of pods of snook. Put out my shark bait around 8 before the tide switched so it was about slack tide at this point and my dad went to subway to get us some grub when I hear the clicker on my 12/0 slow roll. I shined my headlamp on my bait and there was an 8ft lemon latched on to the tail of my king fish carcass I dropped it back to him he nailed it and after a short run he ate it up to the head where my hook was and dropped it. I switched baits since I had about 10 king carcasses and a tiny 3lb tuna carcass. The tide switched and the snapper shut down and all I caught on my bottom rods were catfish and bonnet heads. I put my shark bait on the side not facing the other bridge and it would click a few times and stop for a while like there was seaweed on it but as I get closer to it, it gets hit so hard my reel backlashes and i guess the shark felt the tension and again dropped the bait. I switched bait and the same thing happened again. My dad returned and we decided to eat and I put out my little tuna carcass that I had since i felt that they would probably swallow this one but same exact thing happened so i just reeled up all my rods since me and my dad were tired. We made our makeshift bed and decided to catch up on some much needed sleep. At around 2am the wind picked up alot to the point where I have never seen the water in seven mile so rough. My dad makes the suggestion that we go and sleep in a motel until the tide switch so we start packing up and it starts pouring rain so we just called it a day and came back to Miami since i knew the fishing wouldn't be that great in the morning.
