7 Mile never Fails part 2!
Its been a while since I have posted on here and I haven't been able to do much shark fishing but I did get a chance to get some fishing in the keys this weekend. The day started slow with me and my friend josh heading down to the keys and killing the snappers early in the morning got about 30 mangroves and a bunch of keeper yellowtail mixed in. Fishing slowed down since a cuda came into the vicinity so I pitched out a yellowtail on some wire and a treb and I hook up and get the cuda straight up and down and he straightens the treb. This would be the beginning of my bad luck as I would lose two permit after that cuda. Fish started getting slower throughout the day so we headed to my favorite bridge 7 Mile. Got there set up our stuff i set out my 12/0 with a whole bonito and within 30 minutes there is an easy 9-10ft lemon circling my bait i drop it back and he engulfs that thang. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=415103671858759 The video will tell you the rest. Nothing but bonnetheads on all our bottom baits so i put out another bonito and it gets slammed again but misses the hooks. All in all it was a pretty good day sorry for the lack of any pictures. 7 Mile never fails but your gear sometime does!
