I put a blue runner out last night on my van staal 200,trying to put a fish on that reel that would give me a good fight, it turned out the shark that picked up the little runner was no little 4-5 foot tipper but instead when I stuck the fish he took off a good 350-400 yrds in one run then after that we went back and forth a little but with just some head shakes and minors 15yrd runs for about 20 mins. my friend Austin grabbed the leader so I could get a couple pics and a shoot at grapping the tail. Fish was about 150 maybe 200 but idk I havent put shark on the scale to know the weights but I know I wasnt gonna pick him up over those rocks unless I stuck a gaff in his head so we got some pics and let him go

I wish I did but I dont as soon as the fight was over I was a little disappointed I didnt get any pics of the fight bc It was my first custom rod I built and the first big fish I put on the rod but amd I thought it was gonna blow the rod up with all the heat I had on the fish

Nice fish on the vs200. Blacktips on the 150 and 250 can sometimes be a challenge.
