3 STRIKE'S YOUR OUT

Stephen and I had planned this trip for a while now but the weather would not corroborate with strong easterly winds of 20 mph kept us dreaming of what could be. So finally Saturday the winds were calm and we were off to a location I had gone before in previous years with good results. My friend Stephen had never gone before and said to me why I kept it a secret? So I replied that I had forgotten about this place if he only knew I have others, lol. So we set up early and I mentioned to him that the moon would rise tonight and right around the time of the tide change something big would hit.

STRIKE ONE
After we dropped baits and relaxed a bit Julie's Family arrived Jose (dad) Nancy (mom) Joey (brother) Gisy (joey's wife) and the kids Eric and Javier. It was about an hour later when Julie's Avet 50W reel screams (music to our ears) ran for about 10-20yds and drops the bait I tell her to reel and then stop put it in free spool so she does sure enough it comes back with avenges and takes about 25yds and drops it again but never commits and never comes back.
STRIKE TWO
Now it was Stephens turn his tiagra screams he lets it eat puts the reel in strike and does what we all know to well called the running man but something was wrong he said something was resisting a little so he thought it might be a tarpon or some other fish I joked and said its a Mermaid, lol. only to realize later its a small blacktip shark.

BALL ONE
Now its my turn my tiagra starts to scream I pick up my rod and sure enough it drops my bait :x :x :x
BALL TWO
About half hour later Stephens Penn 12/0 screams I mean at a fast pace he lets it eat and like earlier does his running man only to pull the bait out of the sharks mouth.

OK now with 2 STRIKES and 2 BALLS we either strike out or hit a home run.
Stephens Tiagra gets another hit after deploying fresh bait it also takes off the reel screams it also drops the bait I say WTF is going on here small sharks playing with our baits he moves the bait a little drops the reel in free spool this time he lets it eat for like 100yds it felt like an eternity finally we made a judgement call now or never he does the running man gets turned around right away and the line starts peeling off his reel at a good rate with 50lbs. of drag we knew it was a big shark just like I predicted it would be, It runs North then South I thought to myself its going to be a hammer but we realize it when we could not see a dorsal fin on top of the water then what a Big Bull or Lemon?, finally after a 30 min fight it lets us see the Dorsal a BIG FAT PREGNENT BULL SHARK 8'-3" estimated at 400lbs.
HOME RUN---- GAME OVER 2-0

Thanks Tony this trip was truly epic and I can't believe we took so long to try that spot. I still honesty think we lost a hammer bite last night. But I was happy enough to land 2 sharks in one night
