3/27 lemons
scott picked me up at my house at around 2:00 and we headed over to big carlos to get bait and drift out shark baits. we fished and snagged a ray and lost two others.

no sharks were biting at the time so we switched spots and got runs immediately

7'10"

my 6/0 on a long drop, makes me miss my 80w ![]()

didnt measure this one but it was bigger than the first one. we left fairly early because scott had to work in the morning and i had school.
Great report! Did you go dive to try and find your 80w? You could use a metal detector to find it. I remember last summer a few days after I was fishing with Ben Chancey, a customer dropped his TRX and Iron man rod in the water with a Goliath on it. Two days later, Pete Barrett and his friend dove down and got the rod. It was still there with the fish still on the hook! lol

Get a boat, some scuba gear, and dive in during slack tide. If you have to pay someone it is worth it. $1000+ combo is worth saving. If you have to spend $300 to find it, it's better than spending $1000 to buy a new one. Trying to snag it with treble or anything is a big waste of time.

That rig could be anywhere..its possible the boat drug it a ways, it could have gotten caught on the bottom and be right by the bridge, the currents could have swept it into the gulf, the bay, it could have washed up in the shallow water at the inlet entrance or maybe the boaters realized they had the line on the prop, pulled the rig up and may try to pawn it somewhere. My offer is still on the table if you think it would be worth it to take a look down there underwater, if you have any clue where to start looking, or what direction it may have gone. Also, you should check craigslist, ebay, area pawn shops, ect..get on the Florida sportsman forum and ask around there about it, who knows..maybe the googan who snagged your line is a member of that site and feels bad..maybe they actually realize what they did. And like Blacktiphunter said, if you have to spend a few hundred to find it it is worth it rather than dropping another 1k on a new setup so you could offer a reward for it.
