2014-Rene Memorial Tourney. We all had a great time.
The tournament was a great time with Friends and great food and drinks. Will was grilling up the king fish and making ceviche. The food was excellent. the shark bite turned on about two in the morning with Shannon hooking several large sharks. But with no shark brought in. then Billy hooked up on a couple of shark. One of his sharks got caught on a trap and he could not bring him in. The tide had changed and I had left my big amber jack head out against the tide. the tide was going under the bridge. I got hit and under the bridge he went. I held on to my 16:0 with 200 lb test and pulled him up. We passed him under and walked him down to the sea wall. T hanks to mark and Will for there help. Here are some pics.

Maggy waiting for the great food.

I Had a good time with friends on Long Key bridge last weekend. We didn't have the big turnout that we've had in previous years but those that attended to commemorate Rene de Dios enjoyed the comarraderie and shared old stories that keep the memory alive of one of the best land-based shark fishermen to ever fish LONG KEY BRIDGE.We caught 4 Nurse sharks and the big sharks did not make an appearance but Shannon lost a approx 7 foot lemon shark while walking it down the seawall and Billy had an approx 6 foot blacktip get wrapped around a lobster trap .Fishing on the Key West side of the bridge were Luis Iglesias and Jd Hammer's brother Jerry and son Jeramy.Jerry won the Biggest Snapper Category with a 17 inch Mutton Snapper.A big heartfelt thanks to all those who made the effort and joined us.Thank you.

not a huge turn out, but what a great time we all had!!
Kids had the time of their lives being told ghost stories, flying up and down the bridge on scooter
and catching grunts and snappers all day long!!!
The good shark fishing tide wasn't on our side, we all had to stay up untill 1 am then start floating our baits out.
In return all of us were stumbling out of bed tipsy, and very tired to try battling every shark!! I will tell
you one thing it was freakin hillarious!!
Johnathin Cuerpo Raro !!! was so tired at 7 am that he fell asleep in a tiny chair that had his long legs and knees nearly touching his chin LOL!!!
When we were battling Bucket Mouth and Billys shark wrapped on lobster buoy, we would shout Johnathin Help us, the poor guy was so
Exhausted and knocked out that he would wake up and bobb his head to us and smile!!!! LMFAO!! simmilar to the Cerebral Palsy scene in the
Must see movie Wolf Of Wall Street!!!! Or Identical to"Weekend at Bernies"
Great laughs, and Red Hot fishing!!! WE were catching Cudas left and right!!!
Thanks for our Core group that showed up !!!
For all the others dont miss out next year
Heres some pics i have of the memorial!!!!!
Here is Shannon and JD Hammer and little Dante helping me unload and heading out to the bridge

Shark caught on the buoy had to wait for the tide to change so we could bring it in!! Had to tie the rod up to the bridge so it wouldnt go swimming!!!
