Some of the catches that most impressed me in 2013 were accomplished by non SFSC members and by female anglers during our Big Hammer Challenge Shark Tournament.Diana Coupel of Team Jurassic is one angler who showed her true grit winning multiple categories for massive bull sharks she caught sometimes with only her daughters to assist her.

ANGLER: DIANA COUPEL of TEAM JURASSIC fights a 7FT 8IN. BULL

Diana with her huge 9 ft 1/2 fat bull

Diana with an 8 ft 10 1/2 bull shark

Diana with a 8 ft 6 inch Bull

Diana with an 8 ft 1 inch bull

Katelyn Harris with her husband SFSC member Jimmi Harris poses with the 108 inch bull shark that put her to the test on a Penn 6/0.

A SPECIAL MENTION IS DUE TO OUR PATRIARCH REPRESENTATIVE OF THE SFSC JD Hammer(James Fuqua)in spite of having lost his father in 2013 continued making very impressive catches like the hammerhead below well over 10 foot long caught at the seven mile bridge in October of this year .Jimbo you are an inspiration to all of us .Thank you.

THE LEGENDS IN THE SFSC

Another legendary shark fishermen and member of the SFSC is Ernie Polk who wins THE 2013 "BIGGEST MAKO AWARD"with the first ever land based mako caught by an active SFSC member from land during the year.Ernie already owns the LAND-BASED WORLD RECORD Mako Shark title with a 11 ft 2 inch specimen he caught 4 years ago from a panhandle beach

THE BULL KINGS

Few SFSC members work together as well as Luis Cordova and Jd Fagan. These two have the big bull sharks completely dialed in and make consistent catches of monster bull sharks over 8 foot long more then any other duo in the club ,,,they are truly the BULL SHARK KINGS.HERE IS ONE OF THERE MANY REPORTS OF 2013.

These are two sepearte trips 1-25-13 and 2-1-13. I don't recall many reports that would include 3 Bulls over 8ft on one trip. All Sharks were safely released and swam away really strong. Good times!!!! Props to JD. He's a fishing machine!!!!!

Two trip total in order

Trip 1-Pre Blacktip Challenge
JD 8'2 Bull
Luis 8'6 1/2 Bull
Luis 8'8 Bull

Trip 2-Fishing the BLACKTIP CHALLENGE
JD 8'5 1/2 Bull
JD 7'4 Bull
JD Big Bull over 8ft but not properly measured. Est 8'5 Bull

Trip 1 On this trip as we were releasing JD's 8'2 my rod gets hit and I hook up and land an 8'6.

JD 8'2 Bull

Luis 8'6 1/2 Bull

Luis 8'8 Bull

Trip 2

JD 8'5 1/2 Bull

JD 7'4 Bull

JD Est 8'5 + Bull Big Boy

I went home around 5:15 AM on this night. JD stayed to fish the morning. Around 1PM he was rewarded with this BIG BULL

In these two pictures below JD Fagan continues to impress with his persistant big catches of a variety of sharks like this tiger he caught two on this night.

A QUIET BUT PASSIONATE AND PERSISTANT SHARKER WHO CONTINUES TO CATCH MORE SHARKS THEN ANYONE DURING THE ENTIRE YEAR IS JOE CLAUSEL .THIS YEAR HE ALSO HAS THE PRIZE FOR THE BIGGEST LEMON SHARK OF THE YEAR WITH A 9 FT 3 3/4 INCH SPECIMEN.

HERE IS HIS STORY OF THE BIGGEST LEMON 9 FOOT 3 3/4 INCHES.

This monster lemon shark was caught off channel 5 bridge in the Florida Keys....I had My bait in the water for about 2 &a half hours and the current was already slack It was getting really late it was about 3 something in the morning An nothing was biting so I figured what the hell Lets pick up and let's go... was I wrong... as soon as I got my rod and I had the 16/0 in my hand and I pulled back on the rod to snap the rock off I felt this strong pull the shark had took the bait and the fight was on the current started to change and it was going under the bridge.you guys can imagine the rest of the fight it was well paid off at the end with a 9'-3"-3/4 .monster lemon shark...

NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN FAMILY and taking our children fishing with us and teaching them the value of life and the value of conservation in this rapidly changing world we live in is very important and will pay big dividends.SFSC member Chris Salomoni is a great father ,husband and family man here in these pics he is out fishing with his son Nico and some friends .

I'm running about 8 months behind on posting reports. I haven't had much desk time this year. Here are a couple of photos.

"I spent a lot of time fishing with my son. We had a few very exciting trips. The bite was hot this year and the sharks were big. We are usually with a small group of friends, but this was a new experience. Landing the sharks in rough water while Nico is solo on the rod is something I will never forget. I'm in the water and he is up in the sand. I remember one time, the wind is whipping and I'm screaming to him "REEL, REEL - NOW" Of course he can't hear me due to the distance and the sound of the waves. I turn to look at him and I see sand shooting in all direction. The reel was in the sand, rod just a few inches of the ground and he is leaning back and trying to pick it up, LOL. The shark was ripping drag and shooting sand through the rotor of the reel."

First time using the self timmer.
