$1500 TRIPLE CROWN PRIZE
New for the 2009 shark fishing season,is the addition of a Triple Crown Trophy category with $1500 cash prize for any dues paid SOUTH FLORIDA SHARK CLUB member who wins these three categories,#1 the biggest tiger shark,#2 biggest hammerhead and#3 the biggest bull shark of the year.Anyone in any state or country can enter the only requirement is you must pay the annual $35 membership to be eligible for the $1500 (U.S currency).The competition starts January 1st,2009 and ends December 31,2009.In order to be eligible for the prize you must sign up for shark club membership and send in your $35 annual fee AT ANY TIME DURING THE 2009 calender year ,but only sharks caught after we recieve your payment will be eligible for the prize and trophy. You don't have to attend meetings if you don't want to ,you don't have to be an active member if you don't want- just send in the money and then fish your arse off!!!You must post your catch with the story and pictures on this website https://www.southfloridasharkclub.com.Winners will be determined by overall length of each shark.The person catching the shark must be in two clear, legible pictures next to the shark and those two pictures must be posted on https://www.southfloridasharkclub.com . All sharks must have a witness preferably two witness's and the overall length must be confirmed by all involved in catching the shark.We prefer that your shark have a measuring tape stretched out along it's body (tip of nose to end of tail) when you take your pictures so the overall length can be confirmed .The sharks may be caught from boat or land.All three sharks must be caught by only one individual without assistance on the rod.No electric reels allowed only rod and reel allowed.If no one angler wins the three categories then the prize will be divided in three parts,,,$500 for biggest hammer of the,$500 for biggest Tiger shark of the year,and $500 for the biggest Bull shark of the year.The cash will be handed out or check mailed out to the winner or winners on Jan 1st,2010.More details to come soon.
Sharks should be measured in this form-tip of nose to tip of tail.
A second with a close up of where the tip of the sharks tail falls on the tape is also preferred.

We are trying to challenge the best shark fisherman from all over the world, where ever they are from, to show the world what they've got in this annual competition.So if you feel you've got what it takes come on and show off your great catches.

Who can catch the biggest and where?Maybe this will be the place where the biggest sharks are showcased.Some say Australia but i am of the opinion that Florida can be the place where the biggest sharks in the world are caght ,,,,year in and year out it seems Florida has more 12 foot plus sharks then anywhere else in the world. It's a challenge for the best shark fisherman from all over the world, where ever they are from, to show the world what they've got in this annual competition.So if you feel you've got what it takes come on and show off your great catches.

You got me interested in joinin just to try an get that bull shark prize .Up where i.m at around north palm beach there.s some big slob bulls aroun the inlet an i know some go over 10 foot.
Questions to clarify....Making sure I understand
1. Once enty is paid you can fish wherever you want? Me and my son fish a lot off of the La coast.
2. Me and my son are a team...we do not fish as individuals...is this an individual prize or a team prize? I will pay for both of us but would like the team to be recognized if we were to catch a large shark. (I don't think the waters we frequent the most can compete with you guys but you never know what will happen when your bait is in the water)

The Triple Crown prize is open to everyone from any part of the world fishing from any place.Send in your membership dues, catch the biggest of the three species ,post them on here with the secret item and you can win the prize or prizes.You can fish as a team but only paid members catching a shark can qualify for prizes.

Very nice incentive plan, Will. Anglers may as well keep an IGFA / ILSFA world record in mind, while they're out there pounding the surf for the Triple Crown.
