AS OF November 23,2009 THESE ARE THE LEADERS OF LAND-BASED SHARK FISHING AROUND THE GLOBE .WE'RE ALMOST DONE WITH THIS YEAR AND THERE IS A NICE LINEUP OF CONTENDERS FOR 2009'S BIGGEST SHARKS INCLUDING THREE DIFFERENT SPECIES THE HAMMERHEADS,THE TIGER AND THE INCREDIBLE 674 LB MAKO ERNIE POLK CAUGHT FROM THE PANHANDLE. IF ANYONE HAS INFO ON OTHER BIGGER ONES PLEASE LET US KNOW.

Although other fish were in the area; this healthy tiger had a very large girth at 6' plus putting the fish in the 600-750+ lb category.

All these sharks might be beat this summer with the best months still to come for big tigers at or near 13 feet and hammers that can reach 14 feet and beyond.It's gonna be long ,hot summer full of big shark action and there might be a big suprise coming out of North Carolina,Florida or from the looks of it Texas might do it this year.Stay tuned and see!!!
This 10 foot bull shark was caught recently at Stilltsville in Key Biscayne by some friends of (James Fuqua)Jd's boss .The guys were fishing from one of the homes docks and they paddled out into the channel a ray for bait. When they hooked the shark they had to jump on a boat and follow it .It was probably spooling the reel.This is the biggest Bull shark i have ever seen ;i think it's even bigger then then the one that was in Deaver's site some months ago caught in a South African river. It looks very pregnant and could very easily shatter the Florida state record 551 lbs and maybe even the world record of 697 lbs.The picture and story were emailed to me .

As far as I have been able to research these 8 sharks are still the biggest so far in 2009.Of the 8 sharks on this list a remarkable 7 have been caught in Florida and the other in Texas.The 10 foot 5 inch to the fork bull shark that looks like a Dusky makes no mention of the overall length------so be it a bull or dusky we have no idea of the total length.In 2008 there were two 13 footers Mellissa's 13 foot Tiger and Team Black Bart's 13 foot hammerhead both caught from Florida beaches.Can anyone beat 12 foot 2 inch with one month and a week left in 2009.Time to try!!!

yes jou can break the record if you are a really a hard core fisherman and be ready to brave some bad weather and real windy and cold nites and those sleeping bags are all humid and wet and those real star going out then maybe you are ready to cacth youre monter shark potential record wethere is a hammerhead,or a bull,. or a tiger, it can only be done if you are [[[[[[really are harcore and if you got what it take ]]]

But yahhh man im proud to be apart of our strong core of land based shark fisherman who are the best in the world,and proving it with our catches year in and year out.
Congrats to ernie and my team for representing the south florida shark club with two of the largest sharks caugt from land this year. Trust me we are well known ive heard guys shout my name and no about my shark club T-shirt,all aroung the globe, the latest believe it or not was a well known capt. in the bahamas who visits our site.
Also congrats to Juno cris and team Black Bart, who i consider our friends even though there not in our shark club!!!!!
I can tell you this fellas i feel the fever to start a fresh year already and try to break my 12 ft 2 record. After getting stripped on my 14-o and 12-0 both tied in from delraqy beach, i can promise you that fish was world record caliber,and i feel one of us will do something un heard of from a beach in 2010. Bridges are way to hard to break records , trust me!!!!
